Sickeningly Sweet

Okay, I usually don't brag, but I was wetting myself today I was so pleased with this setup. I recently got a couple Apple 30" Cinema displays for video and graphics work, replacing my old two-computer setup (a 1.25Ghz iMac and a very slow Dell) with a Mac Pro. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Parallels works seamlessly once installed. I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking into running both OS X and Windows on a single system (preferrably a Mac!)

(This is my work setup, by the way. I only wish it were my own!)

Man, That Thang Is HUGE!

About 800 windmills grace the landscape of north Texas. Not something you really see everyday! Tessi and I just had to stop and take a picture on our way back down from Thanksgiving in Sweetwater. Yes, that's me in my car down at the bottom of the photo.

Oh, and for those of you who didn't already know... I'm engaged as of Friday November 17th. Check the wedding site out if you feel so inclined.

I Miss You!

Well, to all my family and friends up north, as nice as this weather is down here, I'm really missing you all. Nothing is particularly wrong or bad, but it's just difficult to face each new week not knowing exactly when the next time is that I'll see you. I know that T and I will be flying up on the 23rd of Dec., so if you're in town, make sure you let us know when you've got a free evening.

We had another church work day today making soap (yes, making soap - it's really a very cool process!) and baking interesting ethnic foods. Then a baptism this afternoon with a Russian family. The baby was doing great until he got dunked. Then he seriously did not stop crying until the service was over... a long and arduous hour later. I can't help but imagine something superspiritual happening that would calm the baby down. Like when the priest touches him to bless him or something. Vladyka put it well one time when he said that "it's the only way a baby knows how to praise God." Very loud and unceasingly apparently! :) A cool service nonetheless.

I've got some good friends coming to see Orthodoxy for the first time tomorrow. I'm never sure how much to say, or whether to try and prep them for what they're about to experience. I just hope that they experience God in a way that is very real, and feel welcomed by the community of faithful. Please keep this parish and the people in your prayers.
